Day 205 (9/28): Pass Punt Kick Competition

This is the third year that Colton has participated in the Pass, Punt, and Kick Competition for Manhattan Parks & Rec.  The first year he earned 2nd place and last year he did not place at all.  The age groups were grouped as 1st and 2nd graders in one group, 3rd and 4th graders in the second group and 5th and 6th graders in the third group.  He was in 3rd grade so in the bottom of the group and got beat out by the 4th graders. So he was determined this year was going to be his year to win it.

They started off with the punt and we were a little worried because his highest kick was about 34 yards and there was one kid that had 77 yards.  WOW!  That was a long accurate punt from the little guy.  So Mark and I were watching him like hawks as he got up to pass the next round.

Colton did a fabulous job throwing the ball.  The good punter - stunk!  So it was going to come down to the kick off the tee.  His first kick was not very accurate so they had to subtract quite a bit off his yardage. But the second kick was phenomenal!  So we knew he was either first or second in the competition.  And....
HE WON!!!  The trophy is pretty cool and his friend won the 5/6th grade group so we were excited for both of them!  What a fun...bug filled...night!

Do you see anything wrong with this picture?

How about this one?

Yep that little kid had to go so he just used the fence and was there for a long time...so I'm guessing he really had to go!  BOYS!  Gotta' love 'em.
